The longest-distance flight over a triangular course in the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale’s (FAI’s) Open Class Gliders by a man took place on 12 January 2011, when the German pilot, Klaus Ohlmann flew 1,750.6 km in Chapelco, Argentina. He also holds the free-distance record for the same class, flying 2,256.9 km on 12 January 2010.
