The largest Irish folk music band consists of 406 musicians and was achieved by the Cooley Collins Traditional Music Festival (Ireland), in Gort, Ireland, on 29 October 2016
This was the third time the Cooley Collins Traditional Music Festival have attempted this record. After falling short in numbers the first two times they called in musicians from Donegal, Kildare, Kerry, Galway and as far as Sweden to be part of the band.
The band played Rattlin' Bog, Kerry Polka and Maggie in the Woods in a medley that lasted over six minutes.
