Bernard Hopkins (USA, b. 15 January 1965) extended his record as the oldest light-heavyweight boxing world champion when, at the age of 49 years 94 days, he outpointed Beibut Shumenov (Kazakhstan) for the WBA Super-world light-heavyweight, IBA light heavyweight and IBF world light-heavyweight title over 12 rounds at the DC Armory, Washington DC, United States on 19 April 2014. Hopkins also became the oldest boxer to not only defend a world crown but also to unify one with this victory.
