At three metres in width, the Great Bed of Ware is the world's largest four-poster bed. Made in about 1590 for one of the inns at the English village of Ware, the bed was advertised as having enough room to sleep 12 people. It proved a popular attraction among travellers, who would break their journey at Ware in order to spend a night in the bed.
