Timothy McClelland and Brian Erickson (both USA) flew a Gulfstream G150 – dubbed the "fastest mid-sized business aircraft in the world" – from John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, California, USA, to Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport in Savannah, Georgia, USA, in 3 hr 26 min. The pilots made the 3,948-km (2,453-mile) journey on 22 January 2013, flying at an average speed of 965 km/h (600 mi/h). This record is for jet engine planes that weigh between 19,842 and 26,455 lb (9,000 and 12,000 kg).
