Terry Cavaretta (USA) became the first female to achieve a triple-and-a-half somersault on a flying trapeze when she performed the feat in a practise yard Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, on 12 March 1976. The event was recorded on camera. The overall first flying trapeze triple-and-a-half somersault was by Tony Steele (USA), who first successfully attempted the feat in 1962 in Durango, Mexico, and performed it regularly afterwards.
