The ceratopsians or horned dinosaurs include such famous examples as Triceratops and Styracosaurus, but the longest ceratopsian was the enormous, aptly named Titanoceratops ouranos. Measuring up to 9 m long, this colossal but exclusively herbivorous creature is currently known only from a single, incomplete specimen discovered in New Mexico and approximately 74 million years old (thereby dating from the Late Cretaceous Period). Like the slightly smaller Triceratops, it bore a pair of long horns above its eyes, a single much shorter horn on its snout above its nostrils, and a large bony neck frill.
