On 7 September 1909, at Juvisy-sur-Orge, France, Eugène Lefebvre, a French aviation pioneer and Engineer and Chief Pilot for the Wright Company in France, became the first pilot of a powered aircraft to die as the result of a powered aircraft crash.
Lefebvre was only the second person to die in a powered aircraft accident.
