The first rotating hotel is The Marmara Antalya in Antalya, Turkey, where a 24-bedroom "rotating loft" top section provides guests with a constantly moving view across the Mediterranean and Beys Mountain range. Floating in 478 tons of water and aided by six 1kW electric motors, the entire 2,750-ton loft turns a full 360 degrees several times a day. Designed by Hillier Architecture with structural engineers MEP, construction of the 18-storey hotel was completed in 2005 for US$22 million.
