The largest breed of terrier is the Airedale, named after the area in Yorkshire where it originated. It has a height at the withers of 58–61 cm in the male, slightly smaller in the female (and also for both sexes in the American Kennel Club's version of the breed standard). It should weigh 25–30 kg.
