The world's oldest stuffed pet parrot is an African grey parrot Psittacus erithacus formerly owned by Frances Stuart, the Duchess of Richmond and Lennox, who was one of the mistresses of England's King Charles II. Shortly after Frances Stuart's death in 1702, her parrot died of grief, but its taxiderm form can still be seen perched next to a life-sized wax effigy of her in Westminster Abbey's museum.
