In this week, 10,766 people attended the show, paying an average of $375.39 (£295.46) per seat. The musical, which draws its musical inspiration from rap, hip-hop, soul and traditional Broadway show tunes, recounts the life of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton and is based on the best-selling biography by Ron Chernow.

Hamilton opened to popular and critical acclaim at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on 6 August 2015, and as of April 2019 has grossed over $500 million (£382 million) in this theatre alone. Productions have since opened in Chicago, London, Puerto Rico and Hamburg, and two US touring productions – nicknamed the "Angelica tour" and the "Philip tour", after characters in the show – continue to take the musical to audiences across the country.
