Running at 1,150kV, the Ekibastuz-Kokshetau power transmission line in Kazakhstan is the highest operational transmission line voltage in the world. Built in the Soviet Union era as power line 1101, the overhead lines run for 432 km (268 miles). The lines are mounted on pylons with an average height of 60 m (200 ft). The weight of the conductor cables is estimated to be around 50 tons.
