The largest donation of baked goods consisted of 24,480 kg (53,969lb 2.65oz) loaves of bread donated by Grupo Bimbo (Mexico) to the food bank Alimento para Todos in Iztapalapa, Mexico City, Mexico, on 22 October 2020.
Every year Grupo Bimbo coordinates a race called Global Energy. In 2020, the race was totally virtual and for each participant Bimbo donated 20 slices of bread to food banks around the world.
In Mexico City this donation achieved record levels: 36,000 loaves of bread weighted 24,480 kg and brought to Bimbo a new world record title.
The Global Energy Race 2020 had the participation of more than 300K runners from 127 countries.
