Online sensation FarmVille (Zynga, 2009) remains the undisputed king of farming sims. The aim of the game is to successfully manage and develop your own farm by growing crops and greenery, taking care of livestock and trading at the in-game market with “farm coins”. At the height of FarmVille’s popularity, in the spring of 2010, 83.8 million people were playing every month. By the summer of 2012, that figure had dropped but was still a substantial 20.6 million.
