In July 2008, Sony added trophy support to its PlayStation Network, allowing PS3 gamers to earn virtual mementos for their in-game achievements. On 4 August 2008, developer Naughty Dog patched their Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune (2007) to make it the first retail game to offer a platinum trophy – the rarest of its kind, and awarded for obtaining all bronze, silver and gold trophies in an individual game. Every subsequent PS3 retail release has included this feature.
