As of the release of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on 7 December 2018 Nintendo's action-adventurer Link had appeared in 40 unique videogames. These included all of the main series The Legend of Zelda games, as well as three Zelda titles for the Philips CD-i console, every title in the Super Smash Bros. series, Mario Kart 8 and even Sega's Sonic Lost World platformer – where Link can be seen flying his Loftwing mount (from Skyward Sword) during the The Legend of Zelda Zone stage.
This total does not include re-released or HD remasters (such as Link's Awakening DX Ocarina of Time 3D and The Wind Waker HD).
Link also starred in three LCD Game & Watch games (not included in final count as they are not videogames in the traditional sense).
