Fastest-selling survival-horror videogame

Resident Evil 5 (Capcom, 2009) moved 1.18 million copies globally in its first two weeks on sale (from March 2009), beating all other survival-horror games. The sequel became one of Capcom’s biggest launches ever, and the title’s continued success made it the top-selling game in the Resident Evil franchise. Many of the original Resident Evil developers returned to work on the fifth instalment of the series, which is set in Africa and features the perennial antagonist Arnold Wesker.
