The fastest para-cycling women’s 3 km individual pursuit in the C5 classification is 3 minutes 27.057 seconds, achieved by Sarah Storey (UK) at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games in Izu, Japan, on 25 August 2021.
Storey broke the world record during qualifying for the women’s C5 3km individual pursuit, and went on to catch compatriot Crystal Lane-Wright in just eight laps in the final to win the gold. Competing at her eighth Paralympics, Storey won two golds to take her tally to 17, making her Britain’s most successful Paralympian.
