At the Paralympic Games in London, UK, on 31 August 2012, two new records were set in the women's F35/F36 discus competition. Mariia Pomazan (Ukraine) bettered the F35 record with a throw of 30.12 metres but had to settle for the silver medal when Qing Wu (China) posted 28.01 metres in the F36 class, which took her to the top of the podium after the distances were re-calculated to take into account the level of disability.
