The farthest long jump by a female F42 athlete is 4.93 m, achieved by Vanessa Low (Germany) on 10 September 2016; and by a female F44 athlete is 5.83 m, achieved by Marie-Amelie le Fur (France) on 9 September 2016. Both were achieved at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The T42-44 classificaton is for athletes with limb deficiencies affecting the legs – for example, amputations. Athletes compete standing and not in wheelchairs.
Le Fur actually broke the previous record on her first jump with a distance of 5.75 m before going on to jump higher.
