The fastest marathon by a male athlete in the T46 class is 2 hours 19 minutes 33 seconds, achieved by Michael Roeger (Australia) on 19 January 2020 at the 48th Annual Chevron Houston Marathon in Houston, Texas, USA.

Paralympian Roeger was born without the lower half of his right arm. Previously a middle-distance runner, he broke the T46 marathon world record in London in only his second race over the distance. In Houston, he improved on that time by more than three minutes, becoming the first ambulant para-athlete to break the 2:20 barrier.
