Staged alongside part of the actual Euro 2016 football championships on 6–7 July 2016, the PES 2016 UEFA EURO 2016 virtual tournament was broadcast to thousands of spectators on a Supervision screen boasting a total surface area of 432.54 m². This giant screen was erected in the Euro 2016 Paris Fanzone at Champ de Mars in Paris, France, right in front of the iconic Eiffel Tower. Spain's Alejandro Alguacil Segura defeated France's Antoine Choite Mbamy in the final, a contest which was watched by some 45,000 eager fans – the largest live attendance for an eSports tournament. The France vs Germany Euro 2016 semi-final was aired on the screen shortly afterwards.

The tournament was arranged by the World Gaming Federation and Konami, the latter of which publish the PES series.
