Hungary has won 22 medals (nine gold, eight silver, five bronze) in modern pentathlon at the Olympic Games. Their first medals were won by Gábor Benedek (silver) and István Szondy (bronze) in the men's competition and Benedek, Szondy and Aladár Kovácsi in the (now discontinued) team event, all in Helsinki, Finland, in 1952. Hungary's most recent success was in London, UK, in 2012, when pentathlete Ádám Marosi won a bronze medal in the men's competition.
Note that this record was equalled by Hungary as far back as Athens 2004, when Zsuzsanna Vörös won gold in the women's event, but the details were not added to the database. Sweden have won 21 medals in the modern pentathlon (nine gold, seven silver, five bronze), from 1912 to 1984.
