Julie Bresset (France, b. 9 June 1989) is the youngest winner of a medal in Olympic cross-country mountain-biking, leading home the field in the women's 4.8-km (2.9-mile) race, at the age of 23 years 63 days, at Hadleigh Farm, Essex, UK, on 11 August 2012. Cross-country cycling became an Olympic sport at Atlanta 1996. In the same race, Sabine Spitz (Germany, b. 27 December 1971) took silver to become the oldest winner of an Olympic mountain-biking medal at the age of 40 years 228 days. The race consisted of six laps of the 4.8-km (2.9-mile) Hadleigh Farm course.
