Bolt achieved the historic "double double" in the Olympic Stadium, London, UK, clocking 9.63 seconds in the 100 m on 5 August 2012 and 19.32 seconds in the 200 m on 9 August. Four years earlier, at the National Stadium in Beijing, China, the fastest man in the world ran the 100 m in 9.69 seconds on 16 August 2008 and the 200 m in 19.30 seconds on 20 August to set (then) new world records in both events. As of 9 August 2012, Bolt holds the world records for the 100 m (9.58 seconds) and 200 m (19.19 seconds).
