Largest margin of victory in an Olympic hockey match (female)

The Olympic hockey match between South Africa and Team USA at the Riverbank Arena in London, UK, on 6 August 2012 finished 7-0 in favour of the South Africans. South Africa and Team USA finished at the bottom of Group B with three points apiece. Despite thumping Team USA 7-0, South Africa scored only nine goals in their five group matches. Team USA, meanwhile, recorded their only win of the competition against group winners Argentina. Both teams were, unsurprisingly, eliminated before the knock-out stages. South Africa's goals were scored by Tarryn Bright (2), Pietie Coetzee (2), Dirkie Chamerlain, Jennifer Wilson and Lesle-Ann George. The score was 4-0 at half-time.
