Three rowers have won three Olympic medals in the men's double sculls: Paul Costello (USA, 1894-1986), who won gold medals in consecutive Olympics Games, at Antwerp 1920, Paris 1924 and Amsterdam 1928, and the Slovenian team of Luka Špik and Iztok Čop, who won gold medals at the Sydney 2000 Games, silver at Athens 2004 and bronze at London 2012. Costello was the first person to win Olympic gold medals in the same event at three consecutive Games. Costello was partnered by John B Kelly, Sr (aka Jack Kelly, himself a triple gold medal-winner (1920-24) and the father of actress Grace Kelly) in 1920 and 1924 and Charles McIlvaine in 1928. Iztok Čop also won an Olympic bronze medal in the coxless pair at Barcelona 1992. The London 2012 rowing events were held at Eton Dorney (aka Dorney Lake)
