The most gold medals won in Olympic canoe-slalom is three and was achieved by Tony Estanguet (France) in the C-1 category at Sydney 2000, Athens 2004 and most recently the Lee Valley White Water Centre in Hertfordshire, UK, on 31 July 2012. The feat was first achieved by fraternal twins Pavol and Peter Hochschoner (Czech Republic) in the C-2 category. They won gold in 2000, 2004 and 2008 consecutively. The Hochschoner twins managed a bronze medal in London but hope to take this record outright in Rio 2016 where they plan to participate.
