The second round match, which started on 31 July and lasted 4 hr 21 min, was contested over 63 games, a record for the most games played in a three-set men's doubles match at the Olympics.
Previous record for most games in an Olympic best-of-three-set match in men's doubles: 59 in the semi-final match between Simon Aspelin/Thomas Johansson (Sweden) and Arnaud Clement/Michael Llodra (France) at Beijing 2008, a match won by the Swedes 6-7, 6-4, 17-19 on 15 August 2008.
