Veteran cyclist Alexander Vinokourov (Kazakhstan), 38, claimed his second Olympic road race medal by winning the 250-km (155.3-mile) endurance event at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Vinokourov's first road race medal came at the Sydney 2000 Games, when he won silver.
Vinokourov, who failed a drugs test at the 2007 Tour de France and was ejected from the race, returned to cycling in 2009 after serving a two-year suspension.
At Sydney 2000, he finished second in the cycling road race behind Jan Ullrich (Germany).
The cycling road race at London 2012 was held over a 250-km (155.3-mile) course through the streets of London and Surrey.
