A pint of beer at the London 2012 Olympic Games will cost the equivalent of £7.23 ($11.20) – more than twice the national average price of £3.17 ($4.91), according to the British Beer and Pub Association.
A 330 ml bottle of Heineken, the only lager that can be served at the Games under the Dutch brewer’s exclusive sponsorship deal, will cost £4.20 ($6.50) - the equivalent of £7.23 ($11.20) a pint.
By comparison, sports fans at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 could enjoy a pint of beer for just $2.46 (approximately £1.60).
Wembley Stadium charges £4.70 ($7.28) for a pint of beer.
