The largest Ramayana dance was achieved by 230 dancers from the Sendratari Ramayana Prambanan troupe (Indonesia) at the Open Theater Ramayana Prambanan, in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, on 15 October 2012.
The dance-drama is a visualization of the legendary epos Ramayana in Javanese culture. Performed in an open stage, Ramayana ballet invites the spectator to enjoy the story in a set of typical Javanese dance accompanied by gamelan music.
The orchestra performing at the record attempt was formed by 30 musicians.
Since its first performance in 1961, Ramayana Prambanan Ballet has toured to Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, India, Australia, Japan, European countries and many others.
