The first double loop by a car was achieved by Gary Hoptrough (UK) during a performance of Top Gear Live at Moses Mabhida Stadium, Durban, South Africa, on 16 June 2012. Hoptrough used a Rage R180 buggy to drive round the two, 8 m (26 ft 2.96 in) diameter loops. As well as working as a stuntman Hoptrough is also a professional motocross racer.
