The most Olympic women’s field hockey titles is four, achieved by the Netherlands in 1984, 2008, 2012 and 2021.


The Netherlands claimed their fourth Olympic gold medal by beating Argentina 3–1 in the field hockey final of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics on 6 August 2021. Lidewij Welten and Eva de Goede became only the second and third players after Australia’s Rechelle Hawkes to secure three individual gold medals.
