The oldest person to circumnavigate the world by scheduled public transport was Saburō Shōchi (Japan, b. 16 August 1906) in Fukuoka, Fukuoka, Japan, on 16 August 2012. He was 106 years old.
Mr Shōchi made the goal on his 106th birthday. He embarked on his trip on 16 July 2012 and visited six countries, travelling a total of 56,700 km (35,232 miles).
