The "Djoker" ended the year with a record 16,585 points to cement his place at the top of the rankings, and he increased his points haul to 16,790 on 10 January 2016 by winning the Qatar Open.

Rafael Nadal ($14,570,935, or £8,835,580, in 2013) was the previous holder of this record. Djokovic has the next four entries on the single-season highest-earners list, for 2014 ($14,250,527; £9,173,650), 2012 ($12,803,737; £7,919,090), 2011 ($12,619,803; £8,165,090) and 2013 ($12,447,947; £7,548,240).

As of 10 January 2016 (after the Qatar Open), Djokovic had amassed career earnings (singles and doubles) of $94,251,218 (£64,898,800) and was closing in on Federer's career record of $97,341,456 (£67,026,600).

ATP Masters 1000 titles won by Djokovic in 2015: Indian Wells, Miami, Monte Carlo, Rome, Shanghai, Paris. Finals: Montreal, Cincinnati.

Djokovic also reached the final of the fourth 2015 Slam, the French Open, where he lost to Stan Wawrinka to miss out on the chance of a calendar-year clean sweep of the Grand Slams.

Djokovic's run of 15 consecutive finals extended from the Australian Open on 1 February 2015 to the ATP World Tour Finals on 22 November 2015. The only event at which he failed to reach the final was the season-opening Qatar Open, where he was knocked out in the quarter-finals by Ivo Karlovic.

In 2015, "Nole" won 82 matches on the ATP World Tour and lost just six.

Djokovic won his 60th career title at the Qatar Open on 10 January 2016.
