On 27 June 1987, Whitney Houston's (USA, 1963-2012) Whitney album entered the Billboard 200 albums chart at No.1. She was the first female artist to debut at No.1 in the history of the countdown, first published as the Billboard Top Albums Chart on 24 March 1945. The Grammy-nominated Whitney, which featured the four No.1 singles ("I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)", "Didn't We Almost Have it All", "So Emotional" and "Where do Broken Hearts Go") that completed Houston's record-breaking string of seven consecutive US No.1 singles between 1985 and 1988, spent 11 consecutive weeks at No.1 and has sold more than eight million copies in the USA alone.
