British rower Roz Savage is the first woman to complete three different ocean crossings. She conquered the Atlantic Ocean east to west, from the Canary Islands to Antigua, West Indies, in 2005-06, the Pacific Ocean east to west, from San Francisco, USA, to Madang, Papua New Guinea (via Hawaii, USA, and Tarawa, Kiribati), from 2008 to 2010, and the Indian Ocean east to west, from Perth, Australia, to Mauritius in 2011.
Savage had spent a total of 510 days at sea by the time she completed her third solo ocean crossing on 4 October 2011, rowing over 15,000 miles and taking approximately five million oarstrokes in her 23-ft (7-metre) boat.
