The most UCI Cyclo-cross World Cups won by a female rider is three, achieved by Daphny van den Brand (Netherlands) in 2005–06, 2009–10 and 2011–2012; and Sanne Cant (Belgium) in 2014–15, 2015–16, and 2017–18. Cant secured her record-equalling third title in four years with victory at Hoogerheide, Netherlands, on 28 January 2018.
Cyclo-cross races are held on technical and hilly circuits of 2.5–3.5 km and last approximately one hour. Competitors have to carry their bikes over some sections.
