The most wins of the men’s 100 m at IAAF World Athletics Championships is three, by three athletes, Carl Lewis (USA) in 1983, 1987 and 1991; Maurice Greene (USA) in 1997, 1999 and 2001, and, most recently, Usain Bolt (Jamaica) in 2009, 2013 and 2015.
Bolt only just secured his third championship – running a time of 9.79 ahead of Justin Gatlin, who ran 9.80.
