The oldest golfer to win an event on the PGA European Tour is Miguel Angel Jimenez (Spain). He won the Open de España on 18 May 2014, aged 50 years 133 days.
After 27 attempts, Jimenez was finally able to lift his home tournament title, and in the process extended his record as the oldest winner of a PGA European Tour tournament. He became the first player over the age of 50 to win on the European Tour and also extended his own European Tour record for most wins by a player aged 40 and over to 14. This was Jimenez's second win of the season and his 21st European Tour victory overall.
