Earlier such broadcasts were pioneered by 3ality Digital (a technology company rather than a TV broadcaster), who presented the first live 3D broadcast of an NFL game (the 4 December 2008 Oakland Raiders vs. San Diego Chargers game, beamed to invited audiences in theatres in Boston, Hollywood and New York) and the first live 3D broadcast of an American Football game to a public audience (the BCS Championship, 8 January 2009).
