The most northerly tramway terminus is St. Olav's Gate station in Trondheim city centre on the Gråkallbanen or Trondheim Tramway line in Norway.
St. Olav's Gate terminus on Line 1 of the Trondheim Tramway or Gråkallbanen as it is also known, became the most northerly in the world, following the closure of the tramway system in Arkhanglesk, Russia on 21 July 2004.
The metre gauge Line 1 opened in 1933 and runs 8.8 km inland to the lakeside termius at Lian in Bymarka. It is currently (2012) operated by Veolia Transport Norway.
