The highest-grossing week for a one-man show on Broadway was the seven days commencing 4 November 2018 for Springsteen on Broadway at the Walter Kerr Theatre in New York City, New York, USA, which recorded an income of $2,424,880 (£1,862,710) from 4,740 seats sold. The concert residency by Bruce Springsteen (USA), which actually ran for just five days between Tuesday and Saturday each week, saw "The Boss" and E Street Band frontman reminisce about his experience as a performer, and sing solo on stage with just a guitar or piano – an intimate production that earned him a Special Tony Award at the 72nd ceremony on 10 June 2018.

Springsteen on Broadway officially opened on 12 October 2017 and was extended twice; this record-breaking week came towards the end of the final run, just a few weeks before it finally closed a month later on 16 December. It was the second-highest-earning show that week on Broadway, just behind Hamilton, which grossed $2,824,675 (£2,169,820). The show, which surpassed the one-week high of $2,057,354 (£1,323,380) earned by Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway (2011/12), went on to become the highest-grossing one-man show on Broadway, earning an incredible $113,058,952 (£89,771,400).

The Boss was often joined by his wife, Patti Scialfa, who guested on backing vocals for "Brilliant Disguise" and "Tougher Than the Rest", but the show is still considered a solo venture.
