Oldest functional traffic light

Hanging outside a small museum in Ashville, Ohio, USA, is a silver egg-shaped curiosity. This is, in fact, the oldest working traffic light in existence. The signal was originally installed on a junction in Ashville in 1932 and worked continuously until 1982. The signal has four faces, and a rotating red/green lamp inside alternately illuminates each face. This simple, but stylish, signal designed by Ashville resident Teddy Boor, still works today and was only retired from active duty because colour-blind individuals found it difficult to see compared to modern lights. Despite strong competition, this traffic signal does indeed have the history to back up its claim on the title.
