Juancho E. Yrausquin Airport, which can be found on the Caribbean island of Saba, Netherlands Antilles, has the world’s shortest commercially serviceable runway. At just 1,300 feet in length, the runway is only slightly longer than that found on most aircraft carriers.
The runway is marked with a large “X”, visible from the air, which serves to warn pilots of the danger of an attempted landing at Saba.
