The world’s largest airport in terms of area is King Fahd International, near Dammam, Saudi Arabia. At 780 km², it is bigger than the nearby country of Bahrain (which has three airports).
King Fahd International Airport is equipped with two parallel 4,000-metre airstrips (plus space for a third), 49 aircraft stands and two helipads, as well as a hotel, multi-storey car park, smoking room and mosque.
