The largest sangria tasting event was Sangria Fest which involved 2,312 participants and was organised by 7.29 Events at the Puerto Rico Convention Center in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on 10 March 2012.
Over 50 sangrias were offered for tasting, from restaurants and distilleries as well as some homemade varieties. Awards were given in each of these categories in addition to a people's choice award.
