Most medals won at the World Karate Championship (male)

Antonio Díaz Fernández (VEN) won his eighth World Karate Championship medal at the 23rd World Senior Championship in Linz, Austria, on 29 Oct 2016. His medal collection comprises two golds (Belgrade 2010, Paris 2012), one silver (Tokyo 2008) and five bronze (Madrid 2002, Monterrey 2004, Tampere 2006, Bremen 2014, Linz 2016). This made him the most decorated male karateka in individual competitions (male kata) in the history of the Karate World Championships.
